Paul wrote to Titus, a trusted co-worker, who was overseeing churches on the island of Crete. Crete was known for its immorality and dishonesty, making church leadership and sound doctrine especially critical.

 

 

Main Message:

Church leaders must exemplify good character and teach sound doctrine. Believers are called to live godly lives that reflect the transforming power of God’s grace, especially in challenging cultural environments.

 

 

Fun Fact: Paul quotes a Cretan philosopher, describing Cretans as “liars, evil brutes, lazy gluttons.”
